Wat Phra Kaew, or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is located within the Grand Palace in Bangkok. It is one of Thailand's most important temples, built during the reign of King Rama I in 1782. The temple houses the Emerald Buddha, a sacred figure representing the protector of the kingdom. Unlike other temples, Wat Phra Kaew does not have resident monks, but serves as the site for royal ceremonies.
